Thematic
Monitoring - a European initiative
|

In
2002 the European Commission launched the initiative of
‘Thematic Monitoring’ for project activities carried out
under the LEONARDO DA VINCI programme.‘Thematic
monitoring’ is understood as a permanent process with the
attempt
- to raise the visibility of project achievements
- to support the use of project results in practice and
- to strengthen the exchange of experience and the
networking between projects, practitioners and decision
makers.

Five
themes
|
|
In close co-operation with
the National Agencies the Commission set out five themes for
the activities:
1. Integration into Labour Market
2. Developing of Skills within companies - particularly SMEs
3. Adapating of the Training Supply and New Training Methods -
Quality of Training
4. Transparency, Assessment and Validation Knowledge
5. eLearning
Each theme has a steering group consisting of a lead National
Agency and participating agencies as well as representatives
for the Commission and the Technical Assistance Office.

Expert
Studies
|
|
A call for tender was published in 2002 for expert studies under four of the themes
(1,2,3 and 5). The contracts for the studies were signed in
the beginning of 2003 and the experts have since then been carrying out their research, finalising their work in the
autumn 2003.

E-learning in Europe -
Results and Recommendations
(October 2003)
All the reports of the studies will be published in
the seminars and on the web.
